| it's been modified for using 28 pin eproms or a nistune board (which is nothing more than an eprom emulator). And even then, your only tuning the same things you would tune with an 8 bit ECU. There's nothing special that hanging on to a 16 bit ECU is going to do for you other than make things harder and spend more money like having to buy the coil. You're not going to be able to disengage the ECU's misfire detection unless you convert the ECU to use an eprom (more money) and retune it. Also, you do not have MAP capability with a 16 bit ECU. Where did that come from? Are you taking about the boost sensor? All that boost sensor does in a 16 bit ECU is cut boost at WOT cruising speeds. Yep, that's what is said, WOT cruising :) As far as faster and more accurate (don't get me wrong, I'm not flaming, I'm just saying :)), there is no advantage that the ECU is faster. Everything is still going to operate the same and even the 8 bit ECU is way faster than is needed for what it's doing. More accruate? Doesn't matter unless you care about .00000000 vs .0000000 Everything is still going to come out the same there. Shoot me an email with your VIN and the part number on the ECU.
